Physical Sweeper

Moves
How to obtain
1) Thunderpunch Level 28
2) Ice Punch
FR/LG/Em Tutor/breed with male Hitmonchan or Meditite
3) Cross Chop Breed with male Machop
4) Earthquake TM26
Trait: Motor Drive Nature: Adamant (+Atk, -SAtk)
Item: Expert Belt/Life Orb/Choice Band/Choice Scarf EVs: 6 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spd

Strategy:

With Electivire's excellent Attack power, Thunderpunch rips through most Flying and Water types with ease. Any Ground Pokemon that tries to stand in the way will get hit with an Ice Punch. Cross Chop is a strong Fighting move that is supereffective against a wide variety of opponents including Steel, Rock, Ice, Dark, and Normal. Earthquake is there to take down enemy Electric types.

The best way to use Electivire is to have a Water or Flying type on your team to lure Electric attacks. When you predict one coming your way, switch Electivire in so that it can get the Speed boost from Motor Drive.

Electivire has several choices when it comes to items. Expert Belt works wonderfully well with this set since it has a supereffective move against most opponents. Life Orb gives Electivire a bigger power boost, which is especially handy against enemies who aren't weak to any of its attacks. But the recoil damage from Life Orb can put Electivire at a major disadvantage, so watch out. Choice Band limits Electivire's versatility, but it also gives it the biggest boost in power. Choice Scarf can be useful to surprise opponents who are usually faster than you.

Being a typical physical sweeper, you should max out Electivire's Speed and Attack while giving it an Adamant nature. Jolly is also a useable nature. The extra speed can be helpful in outrunning many Pokemon especially if you're not relying on your opponent to hit you with Electric moves.

Mixed Sweeper

Moves
How to obtain
1) Thunderbolt Level 43/TM24
2) Ice Punch FR/LG/Em Tutor/breed with male Hitmonchan or Meditite
3) Cross Chop Breed with male Machop
4) Hidden Power Grass
OR
Earthquake

TM10 and the right IVs

TM26
Trait: Motor Drive Nature: Lonely (+Atk, -Def)
Item: Expert Belt/Life Orb EVs: 252 Atk / 80 SAtk / 176 Spd

Strategy:

The advantage of giving Electivire special attacks is that you'll be able to do more damage to opponents who focus on Defense. Skarmory can easily survive Electivire's Thunderpunch but you only need one Thunderbolt can take it down. Thunderbolt will also do more damage to Forretress, Weezing, and other physical walls.

Electivire can also use Hidden Power Grass to take on enemies like Swampert and Rhyperior. You won't be able to OHKO them without significant investment in Special Attack EVs, but you'll still do much more damage than any of your other attacks.

Despite the addition of special moves, Electivire's physical side shouldn't be neglected. Concentrate on its Attack stat so that it can still defeat plenty of enemies with its physical moves. Give it enough speed to reach 270, which allows you to outrun Adamant Heracross. Put the rest of the EVs into Special Attack to ensure you can OHKO Skarmory with Thunderbolt and 2HKO Donphan with Hidden Power Grass (assuming you're holding a Life Orb).

Other options: Fire Punch (Move Relearner/Breed with Hitmonchan or Meditite), Flamethrower (TM35), Psychic (TM29), Brick Break (TM31), Low Kick (Lv. 10), Meditate (Breed with Hitmonchan or Meditite), Screech (Lv. 52)

Electivire has access to Fire moves - Fire Punch and Flamethrower to be precise. These can be used to torch Bronzong and Forretress. Using Fire Punch lets you concentrate on Attack, but only Flamethrower will OHKO Forretress.

Psychic isn't very useful, but you can use it if you really hate Weezing.

If you aren't satisfied with Cross Chop's low accuracy and PP, then you can go with a couple of more reliable Fighting attacks that Electivire learns. Brick Break has lower power, but it can break through any Reflects and Light Screens that you may encounter. Low Kick is a Fighting move that depends on your opponent's weight. It's not very strong against lightweights like Blissey, but it's very powerful against big, heavy Pokemon like Tyranitar and Rhyperior.

As for non-damaging moves, Meditate is Electivire's only method of raising its Attack stat. Screech softens up an opponents Defense to make them easier to defeat or at least makes them switch out.

How to counter Electivire: Cresselia, Dusknoir, Weezing, Bronzong, Forretress, Swampert, Rhyperior, Hippowdon, Donphan, Tangrowth, Meganium, Celebi

Electivire has a diverse array of moves, but there are plenty of defensive Pokemon who aren't weak to any of its attacks. Cresselia is an excellent counter with her tremendous HP and Defense, as well as the ability to Reflect physical attacks and heal herself with Moonlight. Both Dusknoir and Weezing possess high Defense and can cripple Electivire with Will-o-wisp. However, Weezing should watch out for Mixed Sweeper versions since a Life Orbed Thunderbolt can 2HKO.

The Steel types Bronzong and Forretress can easily shrug off physical hits. Just be careful of any Fire moves that Electivire may have.

As long as Electivire isn't carrying Hidden Power Grass, defensive Grounds types can beat it with ease. Swampert is one of the best choices since it's not weak to any of Electivire's most commonly used attacks. Rhyperior's immense HP, high Defense, and Solid Rock ability mean that won't do much damage. Likewise, Hippowdon and Donphan's excellent Defense let them survive Ice Punch. Hippowdon has the added bonus of being able to Slack Off any damage it takes.

Grass types with high Defense like Tangrowth, Meganium, and Celebi can survive up to two hits from a Choice Banded Ice Punch. Tangrowth can put it to sleep with Sleep Powder or hit it with Earthquake. Meganium can put up a Reflect or Counter back its physical attacks. Celebi can Recover and use the oppurtunity to set up.
